Open Graph checker
See how any link looks when it's shared on X, LinkedIn, Facebook, Slack and Discord, and find out exactly what to fix.
What the checker looks at
Title and description
Whether og:title and og:description are set, and whether they're short enough not to be cut off.
The share image
That og:image is a full https address, loads, is a supported format, and is the right size and shape.
Image weight
How big the file is. Heavy images load slowly, and X rejects anything over 5 MB.
X cards
Whether twitter:card is set, so X shows a large image instead of a plain link.
URL and type
That og:url matches the page's canonical address and og:type is set.
Accessibility
Whether og:image:alt describes the image for people using screen readers.

What is an Open Graph checker?
It reads the Open Graph and X meta tags on a web page, the same tags social networks read, and shows you how the link will look when it's shared. It also flags anything missing or broken.
Why does my link still show an old image after I fixed it?
Platforms cache link previews, sometimes for days. Ask them to fetch the page again with the Facebook Sharing Debugger or LinkedIn Post Inspector, both linked from your results. Giving the image a new filename also forces platforms to load it again.
Why does the checker say it can't reach my page?
The page may be private, behind a login, blocked by a firewall, or slow to respond. Only public pages can be checked, so staging sites and pages on your own computer won't work.
How accurate are the previews?
They follow each platform's general layout and rules for choosing a title, description and image, but they're approximations. Platforms change their designs often and some crop images differently on phones.
Are the results cached?
Yes, for about an hour, so repeat checks are instant. Press Check again after changing your page to fetch a fresh copy.
Is the page I check stored anywhere?
Only briefly. The checker fetches the page, reads its tags and keeps the result for about an hour to speed up repeat checks. See the privacy policy for details.
